Crystal River Take a Soldier Fishing is proud to honor the brave men and women who serve our country by offering a free weekend of fishing, fellowship, and family fun here in beautiful Crystal River, Florida.

Our mission is simple — to give back to those who have given so much. This event is our community’s way of saying thank you for your service and sacrifice, and to share the peace, beauty, and camaraderie that can only be found on the water

About the Event

Join us for an unforgettable weekend of saltwater fishing and coastal adventure in the backwaters of Crystal River. You’ll be paired with experienced local boat captains and volunteers who will ensure you have a safe, exciting day on the water targeting redfish, trout, and other local species.

After the fishing concludes, you’re invited to a Banquet and Awards Ceremony featuring:

• Delicious food

• Live band and entertainment

• Recognition of top catches and participants

It’s a chance to relax, connect, and celebrate together with fellow veterans, service members, and the Crystal River community.

Family Fun at King’s Bay Park

While our veterans and soldiers are out fishing, families can enjoy a full day of free community activities at King’s Bay Park, including:

• Bounce houses and kids’ play zones

• Local food trucks and vendors

• Kayak and manatee tours

• Live music throughout the day

• Educational classes on fishing, conservation, and local wildlife

• Unique shopping from local artisans and businesses

This weekend is designed for everyone to enjoy — a time for fun, appreciation, and connection between our community and those who serve.
